Mediation Intake Appointment (60 Minutes) Prior to mediation, each participant is required to attend a separate 60-minute intake appointment. The intake appointment provides an opportunity to discuss your circumstances, identify the issues you would like addressed, assess whether mediation is appropriate for your situation, and answer any questions you may have about the process. Where appropriate, intake appointments may also include discussion of safety concerns, family violence, power imbalances, child-focused considerations, and any other factors relevant to the mediation process. Intake appointments may be conducted online via secure video conference or in person at The Resolution Suites, Strathpine. Intake Fee The intake fee is $490 (including GST) per participant and is payable at the time of booking. The intake fee includes: - A confidential 60-minute intake appointment - Assessment of the suitability of mediation - Review of relevant information provided prior to mediation - Coordination and preparation of the mediation process - Initial contact with the other participant (where required) Issuing of a Section 60I Certificate where appropriate and permitted under the Family Law Act If the Other Participant Has Not Agreed to Mediate If the other participant has not yet agreed to participate, invitations to mediation can be issued on your behalf following your intake appointment. If the other participant declines to participate, fails to respond, or mediation is otherwise assessed as unsuitable, a Section 60I Certificate may be issued where appropriate. Booking and Rescheduling Payment is required at the time of booking to secure your appointment. Appointments may be rescheduled with at least 48 hours' notice. Cancellations made with more than 48 hours' notice will receive a full refund. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the appointment, or non-attendance without notice, are non-refundable. Important Information Attendance at an intake appointment does not guarantee that mediation will proceed. Mediation is only conducted where it is assessed as safe, appropriate, and likely to assist the participants to engage constructively in the process.
